East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP David Ole Sankok has accused some Cabinet Secretaries of deliberately working against President William Ruto’s administration.
Sankok raised concerns about the handling of security, the economy and rising political divisions in the country. He claimed that some members of the Cabinet were taking actions that could undermine the President’s efforts to run the government.
“My first worry is that our Cabinet Secretaries are actually intentionally sabotaging the President,” Sankok said during a radio interview on September 15, 2026.
The EALA lawmaker also expressed concern about growing political tensions in different parts of the country. He questioned situations where politicians and their supporters appear to restrict rival leaders from visiting certain regions or interacting with particular communities.
Sankok said Kenyan leaders should be allowed to travel across the country and meet citizens regardless of their political affiliations.
He also criticised the way economic performance has been discussed, particularly the use of soda consumption as an indicator of economic activity.
Sankok argued that people attending government empowerment programmes may spend hours waiting for assistance, making it understandable that they could purchase drinks during the process.
His comments come amid wider political debate over the performance of the government and the growing political tensions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
