On Wednesday evening, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah delivered a stern warning to all Kenyans, urging them to act quickly and remain vigilant against the misuse of public resources.
Speaking to the nation, he emphasized that the theft of government funds affects every citizen and the country’s future, and that silence only empowers those responsible.
In his statement, Senator Omtatah revealed that some individuals are misappropriating public money, leaving ordinary Kenyans to bear the financial burden. He called on citizens to “not fall silent”, stressing that accountability starts with people speaking up and demanding action from leaders and government institutions.
The senator also urged Kenyans to show solidarity, whether on the streets, at home, or in any public space, to condemn the mismanagement of public funds.
He highlighted that collective action is essential until investigative agencies, including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), take decisive steps to investigate and hold the culprits accountable.
“We must stand together and raise our voices until action is taken,” Omtatah added, emphasizing that fighting corruption requires courage and unity from all citizens.
His message comes at a time when calls for transparency and accountability in public service continue to grow across the country.
