The Odinga family was deeply moved on Thursday after Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka paid a touching visit to the late Raila Odinga’s grave at Opoda Farm in Bondo, Siaya County.

Ida Odinga, the widow of the late opposition leader, could not hide her emotions as she spoke about the generosity shown by Kalonzo during his visit.

Visibly emotional, Ida said she was overwhelmed by Kalonzo’s act of kindness, describing it as both thoughtful and symbolic.

“I am in awe. Besides the 100 cows, he brought food that can last us long enough, even past December,” she said, her voice cracking as she addressed those present.

The visit was a powerful moment that highlighted the long-standing friendship between Kalonzo and the Odinga family, one that has weathered Kenya’s turbulent political seasons.

Kalonzo’s gesture appeared to be both a mark of respect and a reaffirmation of the bond he shared with Raila, who passed away recently after decades of shaping Kenya’s political landscape.

Family members and close allies who attended the event said Kalonzo’s visit went beyond politics.

They described it as an act of brotherhood and compassion that captured the spirit of unity the two leaders always championed.

Ida’s emotional reaction reflected not only gratitude but also the lasting impact of Raila’s relationships on Kenya’s political fraternity.

Kalonzo, known for his calm and diplomatic demeanor, has often spoken of Raila as a mentor and a friend who influenced his own political journey.
