Gachagua Escalates Political Rift, Accuses Ruto of Land Grabbing

The political fallout between Rigathi Gachagua and William Ruto has intensified, with Gachagua directly challenging the President’s credibility on governance and integrity.

Speaking at a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) rally in Narok North constituency, Gachagua dismissed recent remarks by Ruto alleging that he had stolen relief food during his tenure as a District Officer, calling them political propaganda. He redirected attention to Ruto, accusing him of large-scale land grabbing.

“You cannot call others thieves when you have taken land in Kibiko, Murumbi, Narok town, Mau Forest, Lang'ata and other areas,” Gachagua told the crowd.

He claimed that the President had unlawfully acquired land meant for the Maasai community, undermining peace and eroding trust within the Maa community.

Gachagua urged residents not to elect leaders who have demonstrated ill will on sensitive matters such as land ownership and community rights. He pledged that if elected President, any illegally acquired land would be returned to its rightful owners.

The former Deputy President was accompanied by several MPs aligned with DCP, including Onesmus Ngogoyo, who called on the Maasai community to unite behind the party as a platform that ensures their voice in national leadership.

This public confrontation marks the latest escalation in tensions between the two leaders, who were elected together in 2022 but have since parted ways, with Gachagua leading the opposition DCP.

In a related personal development, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua posted a heartfelt birthday tribute to her husband on Facebook on February 28, 2026, praising his character, wisdom, and integrity, and reflecting on their family bond with their children, Kevin and Keith.

The post received widespread attention online, with netizens showing respect, affection, and humor in their comments.
