ODM Leaders Urge Peace Ahead of President Ruto’s Visit to Rarieda

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Rarieda Branch has called on residents to maintain peace and unity during the upcoming visit of William Ruto to the constituency next weekend.

Speaking at a meeting in Aram, Rarieda ODM chairman Onyango Radier urged the community to focus on gratitude rather than political confrontation, as the occasion will double as a thanksgiving ceremony for Dr. Ouma Oluga.

“We urge the people of Rarieda to welcome President Ruto wholeheartedly. We don’t expect leaders with political differences to cause chaos during the President’s event,” Radier stated.

ODM Rarieda youth leader John Otieno-Jairo also appealed to young people not to be used by politicians to disrupt the event.

Similarly, women leaders including deputy secretary Rose Akinyi Asumo welcomed the President’s recognition of Rarieda through Dr. Oluga’s appointment, while warning that anyone attempting to cause disruptions would face consequences.

Branch member Jane Ayalo emphasized that the committee’s unified message reflects a desire for the visit to be a moment of pride for Rarieda, urging calm and respect across political divides.
